Lily Young recently relocated out of the small space that was known as the square above Woolworths at Atterbury Boulevard into a much more spacious office area. Months of rebuilding and revamping were necessary to establish 450 Jacqueline drive as the new home of Lily Young designs. We are very excited to share some photos of our amazing new offices.

Little Lillies at The Baby Expo

From the 12^th to the 15^th of May 2011 Little Lilies were at The Baby Expo MamaMagic at the Coca Cola dome. We had a stand featuring our exciting new catalogue of baby shower invites, birthday cards, birth announcement magnets and many more. Launching the line of designer stationery at this event was very inspiring as we were the only stand to feature custom stationery for the special moments in a child's life. We had requests for chocolate wrappers, cards featuring giraffes and queries into the newest trend of electronic invites. Everybody that visited our stand was as excited as our team about this new venture. Some of the products that got the most attention were the laser cut baby shower invites and menu's and also the custom guestbooks. I think this is a concept that is still new to the South African market and not as popular as in Europe. I am sure within the next years it will become a South African tradition, just like in Europe, to send out personalised stationery announcing the birth of a child; and to take extra care in creating custom made baby shower stationery, birthday cards and invites. At Little Lilies we make everything with love and believe in celebrating the special moments in life. And we love sharing this with our clients.

Give your wedding a theme

The Lily Young team has come across some interesting themes but never have we enjoyed a theme as much as this one. Ettiene and Simone, a delightful couple who were enthusiastic and eager to get married, decided on an Alice in Wonderland theme. There phenomenal personalities most definitely showed through their wedding stationery. 

From their invitations through to their thank you cards, each and every item was individually personalized giving their wedding a unique look and feel. The Alice in Wonderland sketches and textured backgrounds added a fun yet romantic aspect to their wedding. 

So if you want to make your wedding special and different then give your wedding a theme. Your theme can flow through your entire wedding. Designing save the dates, invitations and wedding stationery like menus and table seating will be fun and exciting.

Cheerfully Colourful

This season’s hues and stationery “it list”:

1. Vivid variations of tomato puree and frosted violet.

Floral silhouettes against clean fronts create the ultimate stylish invitation. It is simple and yet powerful and the square shape of the invitation echoes the modern vibe of this style.


2. When a modish shade of gray is paired with a lively sunshine yellow something fascinating comes to life.  The refreshing combination of colours, showcasing elegance and sophistication, with a touch of glamour, makes for the perfect stationery for spring or summer weddings. The floral inspired laser-cutting add a bit of delicate detail to the understated design.

3. For invitations that portray pure perfection, incorporate this season’s Eucalyptus palette - a soft gray that is both warm and yet still cool. Pair this with a Fusion Coral palette, a refreshingly zesty orange shade. The colour combination possibilities are endless as you can explore complimentary bold shades to work with Coral.

4. Pairing unlikely combinations, for a Vintage Chic look. When it comes to weddings, romance never goes out of style. This invitation is perfect to set the tone for a vintage-chic, romantic wedding. This design works beautifully with pastel palettes, a mixture of textures, various typefaces and photographs.  These combinations set the tone for a really fun and intriguing celebration, while also capturing the personalities of the bride and groom.
